Reading anxiety in online classroom among Malaysian university learners: Lessons from pandemic to post pandemic era

Reading anxiety is a situational phobia with physical and cognitive reactions. This can be facilitative or debilitative result in negative impact on reading comprehension, competence, strategies. Most previous studies were carried out traditional classrooms., but the sudden transition to online distance learning (ODL) due COVID-19, extent of ODL among Malaysian university learners its contributing factors are largely unknown. Therefore, this study was measure engaged as well find primary factors. The objectives achieved via questionnaire administered 96 at university. participants found experience high degree ODL. requirement attending classes mode main cause for anxiety, while self-perceived English proficiency also influences significantly. clear constant instructor feedback necessary may easily divert from purpose classes. outcome helps instructors knowing conditions assist them post pandemic classrooms.
